Nonverbal communication is something you can master once you know how to control it. Some nonverbal communications are facial expressions, body language and verbal tone. The way you convey those actions can actually give away your true feelings on a matter. For example your company hires a new team member in your department and you tell your boss you like your new coworker. However, when shaking their hand and saying hello when you meet them for the first time, you pull your hand away quickly, say hello in an annoyed tone of voice and give them a dirty glare. Those small actions actually tells your coworker and boss that you actually do not like them. You are not able to hide or correct your body language and so you come off as unprofessional and unwelcoming. So when talking to so someone be aware of all these nonverbal clues. Try to match your body language and tone of voice when saying something otherwise, your body will non-verbally contradict the same thing you are verbally saying.
